Description

Hanover (German: Hannover) is the capital and biggest city of the state of Lower Saxony with approximate 500,000 inhabitants, located in the heart of Germany.

Mostly known for fairs like the CEBIT or HANNOVER MESSE, Hanover is also famous for the Herrenhausen Gardens, its forest in the middle of the city called Eilenriede, the world’s biggest Schützenfest, the second largest Oktoberfest in Germany (after Munich) and for being an important traffic junction. The spoken German in Hanover is considered very clear and without any accent. Rebuild after WWII as a car-friendly city, Hanover still offers visitors beautiful historic architecture like the New Town Hall or the Welfenschloss. The Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz university, famous for mechanical engineering, is located directly in the city center and offers a wide range of subjects to 28,000 students.

At the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz university approximately 2.000 students study law. About 200 of them are members of ELSA Hannover. We arrange annual study and institutional visits and we are always looking for new Study Visit partners. If you are interested, just write us an e-mail!
