Description
The capital city of Brandenburg is imbedded in a cultural landscape and surrounded by idyllic rivers that has to be discovered. The UNESCO world heritage city provides gorgeous palaces and gardens with a remarkable historical background. International impacts from The Netherlands, Russia or France influenced the lifestyle and the architecture of the city that becomes visible by visiting 'The Dutch Quarter' in the city centre, the russian colony 'Alexandrowka'or the palace 'Schloss Sanssouci' for which the 'Palace of Versailles' served as an inspiration for it. Potsdam also offers especially for art enthusiasts a great variety of possible cultural experience such as theatre and music festivals or exhibitions and a new art museum ('Barberini'). The city is also very popular for film technician all around the world and a famous scenery. Movies like Inglorious Basterds or Bridge of Spies were filmed at the location 'Studio Babelsberg' that is also possible to visit. Furthermore the city provides a wide range of scientific institutions, like the University of Potsdam with six faculties. There is also the great opportunity to visit the city Berlin that is near by. Especially for those who can't have enough cultural experience (and who love clubbing).
