Welcome to Uppsala, Sweden! Uppsala University is the oldest University in all of Scandinavia with a mix of historic buildings and a rich and vibrant student life, only a 40 minute train ride away from Stockholm. Uppsala is known for its amazing student life that offers a diverse social scene were everyone is welcome. Apart from the student part of town the city offers great museums, cathedrals and other beautiful old buildings as well as beautiful Swedish nature. Uppsala truly offers something for everyone as well as the short distance and easy commute to Stockholm makes it possible to experience the capital. ELSA Uppsala is one of the biggest local groups here in Sweden with many members interested in the cultural exchange such a trip and hosting would bring. From Airport (Stockholm Arlanda Airport) to Uppsala Central station it takes 20 minutes by train costing approximately 16 euros or 30-60 minutes by bus costing approximately 10 euros.

Draft Social Programme

As to the social program Uppsala has many historic marks such as for Uppsala Cathedral, which is the biggest cathedral in Scandinavia. We have many museums and historic buildings as well such as Gustavium, the library “Carolina Redeviva” and Uppsala Castle Museum.

We also have many good restaurants and cozy cafes where you can experience the Swedish “fika”. Uppsala is also known for its rich student life and the many different student pubs and clubs to enjoy. Uppsala is a beautiful city with a big student population and something to do for everyone.

Last but not least is Uppsala is also only a 40 minute train ride from Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, which visiting is definitely on the itinerary.
