Welcome to Denmark, the country of “hygge”
We cannot brag about amazing fjords, mountains or lakes as our nordic friends – our highest point is only around 170 meters. However, our country is more simple and you will find some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. We have actually more than 7.300 kilometres of coastline, so where ever you are in Denmark, you will never be more than an hour from the coast.
But it is not all about our beaches. Take a stroll down the street of Nyhavn in Copenhagen, enjoy the rainbow panorama in Aarhus, visit the author Hans Christian Andersen’s house in Odense and Lindholm Høje outside of Aalborg. Visit various museums and castles, where you can learn more about our history and our background as vikings. Mix it with the danish cosiness, happiness and nightlife and you will get at country worth visiting, no matter which time of year you’re visiting us.
ELSA Denmark have 4 local groups – located across the country: ELSA Copenhagen, ELSA Aarhus, ELSA Aalborg and ELSA Odense. Our local groups arrange various academic events, social events and institutional visits during the year. All of them are ready to welcome you to our small, but enjoyable scandinavian country!
