Description
Located in the heart of the Alps Innsbruck (130 000 inhabitants) is the capital city of Tyrol and a famous destination for skiing, hiking but also for cultural visits. As just 20 minutes away from the city center you can reach the „Nordkette“ and enjoy amazing views all over the city (when the air is clear you can even see till Italy) or take a hike, go skiing or party whole night at 2.334 m above sea level.
With more than 28 000 students living in Innsbruck the city offers also appropriate nightlife.
The University of Innsbruck is very popular with students from all over the world. Thus, 40% of the students and teachers come from abroad. The quality of study programmes, as well as the location in the beautiful natural heart of the Alps and Europe, contribute to its popularity.
The Law faculty is one of the oldest and most traditional faculties of our University and is home to 9 institutes and 4500 students.
As special feature there is even an own University degree for Italian law.
About ELSA Innsbruck: We are a team consisting of about 44 active members. Every two weeks we have our team meeting followed by a getting together at our regular haunt, the „Unicafé". We are organizers of the famous ELSA Winter Law School on Sports Law and since 2018 the ELSA Summer Law School on Medical and Health Law. As our relation to the Faculty of Law is very good we have our own office and lots of events in cooperation with the University.

As Innsbruck is quite small you can reach almost everything on foot or by bike. The airport is located 2km in the west of the city center. You can reach it by using the busline F of our local public transportation company IVB. The main train station is directly in the city center and can be reached on foot or with various bus lines. As we have our exams spread all over the year please just contact us to find the best date. Just June and end of May is quite busy as we’re having surely a lot of exams and are busy with the final organization of our Summer Law School.
