Description
Leipzig is an upcoming city located in eastern Germany, more or less between Prague and Berlin. It has 600.000 inhabitants and is the fastest growing city of the country, mostly known for its exhibition center, the controversial Football Club sponsored by Red Bull, the Sternburg brewery and its famous alumni, e.g. the author Goethe and chancellor Merkel. It has been an important fair trade city throughout the centuries until today, which led to the establishment of many Hotels and Hostels, from top-notch five star luxury to mixed dorms or Airbnb. Highlights of the year are for sure the book fair, which attracts more than 200.000 visitors and the WGT, the biggest wave-gothic meeting of the world. At the university of Leipzig approximately 2.500 students study law. About 300 of them are Members of ELSA Leipzig and enjoy our varied events. We also arrange study and institutional visits and we are always looking for new Study Visit partners. If you are interested just write us. We are looking forward to you!

Methods of getting from the airport(s)/train-station to the City Centre/Hotel
Getting here is a piece of cake: Europes biggest dead-end Station is right in the City Center, the Leipzig-Halle International Airport just outsider the city and there is a great connection to the popular intercity bus network. And if your posh enough to own a Car, of course there is the famous german Autobahn. Even Berlin is just one hour away by train. Within the city the trams get you everywhere, but especially during summer you should rent a bike. It is for sure the best way to explore the lakes and forrests in the suburbs.
